Competed in triathlon for a number of years before focusing on cycling. 12 years of road racing, including racing in Belgium and Holland. Mitch BensonLives: Alexander Heights, Perth Bio: At 17, the youngest in the team. An Endurance Road / Track cyclist. Love music and cycling. Been riding for about 4 and a half years. Big family backround in the sport so trying to carry on the family name! Highlights: Under15- Two national bronze medals, Under17- Two national silver medals and two national bronze medals, Under19- Three national bronze medals. |
Julian BissetLives: Perth Bio: Started cycling at 14, on the track and then moved into road riding. Started racing at 15. Still continue to race track over the summer months. Have been involved with 2 state track state teams. Highlights: 2nd WA State individual pursuit championship U19, 2nd WA State points race championship U19, 6th National road time trial championship U19, 4th Australian National points race championship U19, 4th Australian National teams pursuit championship U19, 2nd Pemberton Road race (B grade). |

Rob DoyleLives: Ballarat, Victoria Bio: Started riding Mountain Bikes at the age of 12, made the progression to Road and Track later on. Neil Manning Lives: City Beach, Perth Bio: Competed in elite level competition at an early age, representing Zimbabwe. Moved to Australia at 18 year old. Re-commenced competition level cycling at a later stage After the family had grown up. Works for Cycling WA, as well as being the Risk Management Consultant for Cycling Australia. Shaun O'NeillLives: Australind, WA Bio: Started riding in late 80’s to build endurance for BMX racing. First nationals in Canberra in ’89, which was a long way from Newman but very memorable.
